Dance PROGRAM

Does your child love to dance? DTTA offers a variety of dance programs that help children embrace the fun and joy of dancing as well as create their own interpretation of music.

 DTTA DANCE PROGRAM INCLUDES

  • Pre-ballet and Ballet
  • Let's Dance (includes contemporary, jazz, modern, and dances from musicals)
  • Cheerleading Dance
  • Latin Dance
  • Spanish Dance

DTTA Pre-Ballet and Ballet

  1. Goal: The Door to the Arts Ballet Program (including pre-ballet) is designed to give students an appreciation of ballet by learning basic steps and ballet variations.  This effort is reinforced by reading classical ballet stories, complimented by the use of classical ballet musical scores, as well as having the opportunity to attend professional ballet performances (at discounted prices) throughout the year.
  2. Uniform Requirements
BALLET (PK2-1st grade): Black leotard, black ballet skirt, and pink ballet slippers (students may wear their school socks).
BALLET (starting in 2nd grade):  Black leotard, black ballet skirt, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers.

Hair should be in a bun and pulled away from the student’s face.   Students may want to come to school on dance day with their hair already picked up.  Include a brush, extra pins and extra ponytail holders in the ballet bag so they may touch-up their hair before class.

DTTA Let’s Dance

  1. Goal: The DTTA Let's Dance Class is designed to give students an appreciation for different forms of dance through basic dance steps and dance variations.  This effort is reinforced by learning about the evolution of each form of dance and pointing out each form’s unique characteristics.  The experience is complimented with the use of corresponding musical scores and the opportunity to attend professional dance performances throughout the year.
  2. Uniform Requirements:
Girls: Black leggings, black tank top with a sports bra underneath, black jazz slippers without laces (no jazz sneakers).
Boys: Black shorts, black t-shirt, black jazz slippers.
Hair should be pulled back in a ponytail.

DTTA Cheerleading Dance

  1. Goal: The DTTA Cheerleading Dance Program will teach students the basics of cheerleading through cheer routines and dance variations.  Students will also learn how to project their voice and use props, such as pompoms, during their routines.  Students will put their experience into practice at various school events.
  2. Uniform Requirements:
Practice Uniforms: PE uniform and white sneakers
    Game Uniforms:
